Two Additional Changes to New FarmVille Gifting System

Over the past few weeks Zynga has been slowly rolling out a new gifting system. As we reported previously, you now have an option to accept and send free gifts in the FarmVille game screen. In the upper right corner of the screen there is an envelope, you can click on this to accept gifts neighbors have sent you. After selecting the envelope, a new screen will pop up allowing you to accept or ignore gifts, accept neighbor requests as well as help neighbors through requests.

There have been two significant changes this week to the new gifting/request system.

1. After accepting a gift, there is now an option to send a Thank You gift in return. It does not redirect you, another screen simply pops up allowing you to send the same gift in return, much like on Facebook, rather then choosing from a menu of all gifts.

2. The most important and significant change to the new in game gifting system came last night. You no longer need to reload your farm in order to receive gifts. After accepting (and returning) simply wait a moment and mouse over your gift box, and the number will change and the gifts will appear.

This new in game gifting option has been updated/changed slowly. With each change, gifting seems to become easier and faster.

FishVille Mushroom Mounds feature expires May 4

fishville mushroom moundsAttention FishVille mushroom gatherers -- looks like those carefully cultivated 'shrooms will expire on May 4, so you need to make sure you accept any gifted mushrooms and redeem them for any of the Mushroom Mound items you've been eyeballing.

Here's the official note from FishVille moderator Susannah:

Hey guys!!

I just wanted to let you all know that the mushroom mound feature & so the mushrooms will be expiring on Tuesday, May 4, 2010! So, I'd advise you to cash in as many of your mushrooms as you want to over the next couple of days!

We heard you last time about needing clear warning more in advance, and so this time around you have 4 days to redeem your mushrooms.

Found! Leaked image of an unreleased Adobe Villa in FarmVille

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, FarmVille rolled out a slew of Southwestern-themed items, including several cacti, Jackrabbit and a few adobe buildings. Apparently, that's not all that Zynga has in store for this new theme, as this leaked image of another adobe building -- the Adobe Villa -- leads us to believe.

We're not sure when (and if) this Adobe Villa will roll out in the game, but we can't help but wonder if this Villa will cost a cool 1 million coins like the regular FarmVille Villa.

FarmVille free fuel glitch: Send unlimited fuel to friends

There's a FarmVille fuel glitch that you can exploit to send unlimited fuel to friends in FarmVille. Starting today, you'll see an orange fuel can on the left-hand side of the game screen. Click it, and you'll be able to post a message on your Facebook wall that says '______ wants to share some fuel with their friends in FarmVille.' Click on 'Get free fuel' to get your free fuel...

If you want to keep sending friends free fuel -- reload the game and then the icon will reappear on the left-hand side of the screen again. Keep clicking to repost the free fuel message to your wall, and friends can keep accepting the fuel. We don't know how long this little glitch will last, so take advantage while you still can. We won't tell...

FarmVille Fuel Week makes a (very) welcome comeback

Farmer who have been running low on fuel (like me), will be happy to know that FarmVille Fuel Week is back for round two (the first was in January).

Here's how Fuel Week works: sign on to FarmVille for several consecutive days in a row to score free fuel. Each consecutive day you login, you will earn more fuel (that's provided this Fuel Week works like the previous one).

You also have the option to give your neighbors free fuel by clicking on the Fuel icon on the left hand side of the page, which will post a notice to your Facebook wall. NOTE: Every time we've re-loaded FarmVille -- we've been able to gift fuel to friends. We gifted fuel to friends four time so far. Not sure if this is a glitch or will stick around -- but take advantage while you can!

As part of the Free Fuel week, you will also be able to send a Small Fuel Can to friends from the Free Gifts page.

After this week, you should be, hopefully, swimming in Fuel (OK, that's kinda gross, but you know what I mean), now the question is how to make it last.
