| Tiki Resort: New Wild Ones-themed zoo Posted: 15 Apr 2010 05:00 PM PDT It seems like Playdom has released quite a lot of items that must be bought with Facebook Credits lately, including the new limited time Tax Day Charm. In addition, almost all items lately have been for the Baja Island, which requires players to spend real life money or be level 20. This means that most players do not actually have this second island, and quite a few people are getting irritated with Tiki Resort. It seems as if Tiki Farm developers are trying hard to encourage everyone to obtain a second island by releasing these neat new items that are unattainable unless you have the Baja Island. Do you have a Baja Island, and if so, are you buying the Salvaje Zoo?

| Pet Society upsets fans by introducing new coin earning limit Posted: 15 Apr 2010 03:00 PM PDT Moderators on the Pet Society official forum seem to be as surprised by this change as the players, stating they are "looking into it". Pet Society developers, Playfish, have not yet responded to this fiasco to calm the players and answer questions. Many Pet Society fans are boycotting the game or refusing to spend any more real life money on it, claiming that the experience is now cheapened. A poll thread has been started in the forums, and 82% of Pet Society players believe this was a stupid change that should be changed back. Hopefully an official response from the developers will come soon! I personally felt at first that 25,000 was fair, because with around a dozen neighbors I have never come close to earning 25,000 coins in a day. However, many of these Pet Society players have been enjoying the game for many months and have accumulated many neighbors. Common complaints are that if you are someone who receives a ton of gifts, you're forced to store them rather than sell them to prevent hitting your spending limit. In addition, many players love the Mystery Boxes in Pet Society, which often give 999 items. These Gold Mystery Boxes cost 500 coins and can give out items that sell for 999 coins, therefore it is possible to turn a profit. Players are upset that they will not be able to enjoy going through lots of mystery boxes to get the items they're looking for because they won't be able to sell the profitable items. What do you think about the new coin spending limit? Will you be boycotting Pet Society? (via Pet Society Official Forums)

| FarmVille Puppy Kibble: Everything you need to know Posted: 15 Apr 2010 12:00 PM PDT Last week, FarmVille puppies made a grand entrance into the market, but like most aspects of our virtual farm, it requires a little effort to keep the puppies from running away and helping them grow into a healthy adult -- namely, making sure you come back every 20 hours or so to feed your puppy kibble for 14 days. Lots of questions have sprung up about how to get kibble, how to feed puppies kibble and how to deal with puppy who runs away if you missing a day of food. How to Get Kibble: There are two ways to acquire Puppy Kibble in FarmVille -- as a free gift sent by friends or purchased in the in-game Market for 3 FV dollars per serving. If you want to be more pro-active and make sure you stock up on all of the kibble you need to turn your puppy into a full-grown dog, you can ask friends to send more puppy kibble by posting a message your Facebook wall. To request more kibble, right-click on your puppy and select 'Ask for Kibble' from the pop-up menu. Then click 'Ask for Kibble' from the second pop-up menu and you'll be prompted to post a Facebook message on your wall. Then friend can click 'Send puppy kibble' directly from your Wall post. How to Feed Your Puppy Kibble After stocking up on Kibble, the next move is to actually make sure your puppy gets fed. Every day -- for 14 days -- you'll need to log in to FarmVille to feed your puppy. A thought bubble with a bag of kibble will appear over the puppy's head when it's ready for food. To feed the puppy, right-click on them and then select 'Feed' in the drop down menu and the food will be automatically extracted from your gift box. A few other things to keep in mind about feeding your puppy: You cannot feed them until they are hungry. You can tell how much longer you have to wait to feed them by mousing over your puppy, which has a countdown until feeding time. You cannot feed your puppy until its hungry. If Your Puppy Runs Away Miss a day of feeding your puppy, and it will run away -- then you'll have to pay 2 FarmVille Cash to get them back. Have any additional FarmVille puppy care tips? Or just looking for a few new FarmVille neighbors? Leave a comment below.

| Cafe World: Aliens Return With New Set Items Posted: 15 Apr 2010 11:00 AM PDT Most of the Decor section items are also animated, which is always a special treat to see. Unfortunately, they can only be bought with Cafe Cash. Luckily, Cafe World has been giving out Cafe Cash left and right (Wedding Cake Glitch, Windows 7 offer, Daily Cooking Bonus, etc.) and if you've been paying attention, you should have enough saved up to spend on at least one new awesome item. Hit the rest of this post for the full visual preview...

| Happy Pets leap into orbit with Laser Pointer Glitch Posted: 15 Apr 2010 10:40 AM PDT It was a typical afternoon in the world of Happy Pets. Boozie my cat, my dog Champs Elysees, and I were just hanging out in the back yard. Everything was going swell: Champs was just sitting around while Boozie and I were fooling around with the laser pointer (as seen above). I noticed something was wrong when instead of just grabbing at the red dot, he jumped across the yard, paws outstretched like a Superman cat. I shrugged it off though and kept wiggling the laser pointer. Boozie proceeded to crouch down, set his gaze on the laser pointer far above his head, and launch towards it. Unfortunately, he missed and continued up out of the screen and probably up into space. He didn't come back down... Update: Boozie landed safely and with quite an appetite at 5:41 this afternoon! Happy Pets must be putting some serious supplements in their patented pet food. Needless to say, we're glad to have him back. I'm not sure exactly how this hilarious Happy Pets glitch works, but its not hard to do. Just head out to your yard with your cat, wiggle the laser pointer in front and above the head of your pet, and soon enough, they'll be joining Boozie in orbit above the Happy Pets planet. Don't worry, they come back. If you get concerned, just refresh the page.

| GSN/Worldwinner looking to bring cash gaming competitions to Facebook Posted: 15 Apr 2010 10:30 AM PDT A subsidiary of TV's Game Show Network, WorldWinner currently offers a variety of skill-based gaming competitions on its website. Players can wager a dollar or more that they'll be able to score higher than a randomly assigned opponent (or opponents) on many popular casual games, including Solitaire, Bejeweled, Minesweeper and Plants vs. Zombies. Worldwinner takes a perecentage of each entry fee for itself, and the winner of the competition nets the remainder. The company seems excited about bringing these kinds of cash-based gaming competitions to a platform with the size and scale of Facebook. "It's only in the last nine months or so that people have built up a critical mass on Facebook games," WorldWinner president Peter Blacklow told Xconomy. "Now, when the Zangas [sic] and Playdoms and Playfishes have created the critical mass, the timing is perfect. None of them have any intention of getting into cash tournament games, but they all know there is no better way to generate revenue." The company has already launched one Facebook game, a free-to-play trivia contest called Dumbville that's designed to draw new registrants to the WorldWinner site. Blacklow promised two game-show-based Facebook games this summer, though it's not clear whether these will be free-to-play, cash competitions or some combination.

Perhaps the creepiest Facebook game we've ever seen, Mootopia lets you continually feed a baby glass after glass of milk to grow and strengthen its muscles, hair and teeth.

| Glee iPhone app brings social karaoke to the iPhone, social networks Posted: 15 Apr 2010 09:30 AM PDT As you'd expect, the game lets you sing along to selected songs from the hit Fox TV show (more are released every week) using the iPhone's microphone, complete with the requisite backing beats and on-screen lyrics. What sets Glee apart from similar karaoke games and apps, though, is the myriad ways it offers to share a recording of your performance. Most intriguing is the abiltiy to start a "virtual Glee club" and digitally combine separate performances into a single, harmonized performance. But there are also widgets that let you share your vocal performances with friends via Facebook, MySpace or e-mail. Or, if you're feeling braver, you can upload your performance to the Glee Globe to be heard on Smule's web site. A quick spin around the site today shows a lot of auto-tuned awfulness being submitted (the App provides built-in "Harmony and Pitch Correction"), but there are a few gems if you dig around -- check out this excellent rendition of "No Air," for instance. Considering that an app with the Glee name attached could have easily been a quick cash-in, we're impressed that Smule seems to have put some real thought into making their karaoke app truly unique and social.

| Atlus brining gaming properties to social networks Posted: 15 Apr 2010 09:00 AM PDT Here at Games.com -- The Blog!, we don't know Japanese. But we do know who we trust, and we trust Japan-o-phile game site Siliconera when they say the above image confirms Atlus will be bringing some of its gaming properties to social networks by the end of August 2010. The image, which comes from an interim report recently issued by Atlus parent company Index Holdings, shows "the funnel which yields high quality casual games for social network services and portal sites" according to Siliconera. Atlus' "know-how ... quality and confidence" are also swept into the funnel, along with various Atlus intellectual properties, according to the Siliconera translation. We'll have to take their word for it, since the only thing we understand in the whole image is the logos and the little "SNS" in the bottom right corner. No word on what form these social games will take or whether they'll even appear in America, although the picture of a child in a school uniform playing on a mobile phone seems to imply the initial focus will be on Japan's social market. That's not going to stop us from praying for Demon's Souls-ville.

| Disappearing YoVille Shirts Are Not Returning To Store Posted: 15 Apr 2010 07:09 AM PDT Less than 250 of these shirts were purchases so if you are one of those players, contact Zynga support to get a refund. Read Pink Ninja's full post after the link.Hi Guys, We know there have been a lot of questions surrounding last nights brief release of 2008 dress shirts. Here's the break down of what happened and what we're going to do. - These items were originally made for VIP and had never been released, previous to yesterday. -We decided to put them out since VIP is not being planned for anytime soon. -Since these items were made before we changed our avatars (when we gave them the ability to sit. lay down, etc) they had some big issues and were unable to be worn. -We removed them from the store quickly, approximately 10 minutes after the release. -Right now there are no current plans to re-release these. I'll let you know if this changes, but I don't think it will. -Customer Support is offering refunds to anyone who purchased these items. -We are making them untradable and ungiftable to prevent scamming. We're very sorry for the mistake and have taken steps to prevent it from happening in the future. With all of that being said, it should be known that this issue has been blown out of proportion by rumors. A) Less than 250 shirts were purchased before we removed them. B) No this will not be a repeat of past issues with "hackers" trying to gain these items to sell. You can't wear them so they have no value. Further more, they will not be tradeable or giftable going forward. I hope this clears up a lot of the questions. I apologize for this mistake and understand that it has caused frustration. ~Pink This article originally appeared on YoVille Lounge.

| Tiki Farm gives everyone a refund with the Tax Day Charm Posted: 15 Apr 2010 07:00 AM PDT Tax Day -- it's arguably the worst day of the year. That's why we're grateful that Playdom's island resort game Tiki Farm is giving us a break with a limited edition Tax Day Charm. To get your very own charm, click on this link. You will receive a pop-up notification in game that you have received a prize, and you can locate your red, white and blue charm in your gift box. Open the gift box, click the 'use' button, then drag the charm into the volcano to take advantage of this charm's magic powers, i.e. fill up the coffers for each of your attractions, making them ready for collection instantly. This can really add up if you've got an attraction-filled resort. Of course, this won't exactly take away the pain of handing over cash to the tax man, but kudos for Tiki Farm for the consolation prize.

| Restaurant City: Level 10 Salmon Sashimi Earns a Surprise Posted: 15 Apr 2010 07:00 AM PDT To get the Salmon Sashimi to Level 10 from scratch, one has to use 2 pieces of Salmon and 1 piece of Wasabi per level. This means 20 pieces of Salmon and 10 pieces of Wasabi! Now that's a lot of Salmon for one dish. Playfish knows this, which is why they've also slashed prices in the ingredient Market for Salmon, Wasabi, and Seaweed, dropping the prices from 7 Playfish Cash to 5 PFC. That's right, these are being sold in the Cash Ingredients Market, which requires real money for purchases. But if you want to go the free route, Salmon is also now being offered as a giftable item, so you can rally your restaurant neighbors to send each other more Salmon. As for the Wasabi, you can grow that yourself, but remember that garden plants grow randomly, so you never know what you'll get.
