| FarmVille Secret Sheep unveiled? Posted: 17 Apr 2010 12:30 PM PDT In the battle between FarmVille Cows and Sheep -- cows won, which means farmers will have access to a Secret Cow, which might be these orange and tan cuties. However, an anonymous tipster shows us what the Secret Sheep might look like (this is not confirmed by Zynga), when -- and if -- it's unveiled to the public. The Secret Sheep -- which could be this fluffy white guy with an 'F' and 'V' headband -- will see the light of day if the FarmVille Sheep fan page on Facebook reaches 2 million fans. From the official FarmVille Sheep Fan page: The Illustrious Flock has been defeated by the Cows, but the Future is still bright! We may be able to offer the latest member of the Flock if we reach 2 Million Fans, so make sure to ask your friends for their support! With your help, we could still have our magnificence revealed! http://zyn.ga/2 Right now the fan page has roughly 1.7 million followers - so if you're on Team Sheep, it's not too late to show your loyalty. Which side are you on -- Team Cow or Team Sheep?

| FishVille Mushroom Mound redeemable items *Spoiler* Posted: 17 Apr 2010 12:00 PM PDT FishVille introduces the Mushroom Mound, a limited edition mini-game which requires aquarium owners to collect mushrooms (sent as gifts from friends) and then redeem them for special prizes. Players can also request that friends send mushrooms by clicking on the green 'Ask for More' on the Mushroom Mound pop-up screen. If you've been double-dipping with FarmVille, this Mushroom mini-game will be VERY familiar. This is the same kind of game the farming sim has rolled out for all of the major holidays since Christmas -- the most recent being the FarmVille Spring Basket. Of course, the real fun of these collecting games are the nifty items you can redeem your mushrooms for. Without further adieu -- here are the special prizes for FishVille's Mushroom Mound: **Spoiler Alert!** White Musketeer -- 3 Mushrooms Baby Dragon -- 6 Mushrooms Frog Prince -- 8 Mushrooms Fish Youth Magic -- 16 Mushrooms Blue Surgeon -- 20 Mushrooms Fish Clone Magic -- 30 Mushrooms Which of these six prizes are you planning to get?

| PetVille rolls out new Cafe World limited edition item: The Patroness Posted: 17 Apr 2010 11:00 AM PDT PetVille's Cafe World collection items keep on coming -- today's new item is a lovely Patroness in a yellow dress. (Hey, that rhymes!) This lovely lady will be available for two days only and the only way get one of your own is as a free gift from friends. The Cafe World Chair -- the previous collectable item also in the image above -- will expire any minute now, so start talking to your PetVille pals if you haven't gotten your hands on one of these metallic beauties yet. In case none of this makes sense, the Patroness and chair are both part of a new Cafe World collection in PetVille. There will be a total of 10 items, which will be available to send (and receive) as a free gift for 48 hours only. PetVille released a similar FarmVille-themed collection in February 2010. | Funfari First Look: A farming game with an exotic twist Posted: 17 Apr 2010 10:00 AM PDT A farming game with a twist While there's a big safari theme, Funfari is -- at its core -- a farming game, where you start out with four harvestable plots and an empty experience bar. There doesn't appear to be a limit on how many plots you can place; at level 3, we had over a dozen. Planting, watering, and harvesting are all familiar concepts from other games, so it is quite easy to get up to speed on how to play. There are also harvestable trees and hungry animals to feed, which you'll quickly discover when your lion starts begging for food. Gift and you will also be gifted Just like other social games, Funfari encourages you to invite friends to play so you can visit their safaris and send and receive gifts. There does not appear to be anything innovative here as far as social features is concerned, but the available gifts, e.g. a leopard, are fun to send (and receive, of course). Many ways to spend those Coins and Jewels Funfari has two currencies, Coins, which can be earned in-game, and Jewels, which cost real world money. The Safari Shop is standard fare for these kind of games, although it's pleasantly surprising to see just how many items the game launched with -- over 150 ranging from level 1 to level 72. The Plants tab has a variety of plantable crops, each with different harvestable growth times, XP payouts and revenue. There are over 25 different animals and all of them are available for coins, which was a pleasant surprise since most games want you to shell out real-life cash for at least a few animals. There are also an impressive range buildings to place on your safari, such as an Animal Hospital, Fruit Stand and Windmill. Music to your ears Funfari is bright, cartoony, colorful, and has a standard top-down isometric view -- again, nothing we haven't seen in a Facebook game before. The game actually has a similar feel to Jungle Extreme, through the user interface is much easier to navigate. Log into the game, and some seriously dramatic intro music practically blows you away. This sweeping orchestral score doesn't exactly fit with the whimsical art style, but it's still a nice change from the cheesy songs in other social games. Funfari's certainly fun, but how does it measure up? Funfari is a nice looking, polished game with an impressive amount of content right out of the gate, and doesn't do anything we haven't seen in a Facebook game before -- for now, at least. Once the other hand, the fact that it's based on farming makes it simple to pick up and play and the safari theme offers a slightly different flavor. The real test will be watching how many more farming games with thematic twists (island theme, jungle theme) you'll want to add to your gaming repertoire. One side note: The game appears to have some problems loading in Web browsers such as Chrome and Safari (ah, the irony) but we assume these will be ironed out in no time. Give Funfari a try, and let us know what you think! Will you be playing Funfari?

| Social City releases new gifts, buildings, storage and a performance fix Posted: 17 Apr 2010 08:00 AM PDT The most noticeable addition will be all the new gifts and items. 10 brand new gifts were released, including 8 different Sakura paths, a path crossing, and a Japan cottage. The gifts themselves are not particularly interesting, since 8 of them are all various pathway layouts. For someone building a Japanese empire, you may be excited about all of these pathway layouts. In other gift related news, a new gift counter has been placed on the gift box so that you already know how many you have waiting to be placed. For the eager collector with many decorations, buildings and placed items, Social City now has storage. This is a much needed feature in Social City, because gifts can add up and buildings take up a lot of space. Having the ability to store items for later use will be a big help, especially when doing city renovations. Several new buildings and leisure items were added. This includes the following: Baseball Stadium Triumphant Arch Parking Garage Horseman Statue Wishing Well Balloon Vendor Brick Family Home Pink Victorian Home For computers that are having trouble with running Social City, two new performance features were added. The first is that the "eye" icon is now back and with a simple click, all animations will be turned off. This can help with older computers or laptops that cannot run the game with all of the animations going at once. There is also a new "low quality mode." In this mode, Social City will automatically detect when your framerate is low and adjust your game settings so that you do not experience any major slowdowns. Some other minor enhancements and bug fixes were added that seem like they should help performance as well. Are you enjoying this latest update in Social City? Let us know in the comments! | Zoo World celebrates 5 million fans with Woolly Rhino promo Posted: 17 Apr 2010 06:00 AM PDT While these rhinos are cute, it does seem like a slight slap in the face that to reward players for reaching their 5,000,000th fan they are putting an item up for sale instead of granting a free prize to everyone. Many players are upset about this, because there is almost always a "special" going on offering some kind of animal for $0.99. There is nothing particularly spectacular about this rhinos other than the fact that they come in a pair, which makes breeding easier. They are not attainable in any other way aside from spending real-world money. Are you one of Zoo World's 5 million fans, and will you be buying the pair of Woolly Rhinos?

| FarmVille Podcast Highlights - April 16th, 2010 Posted: 17 Apr 2010 02:30 AM PDT New Peanut Crop The new peanut crop in FarmVille is a 16 hour crop, yields 78 coins, and can be purchased for 20 coins. It can be mastered (which is great news), and level 1 is at 275 crops harvested, level 2 is at 825 crops, and level 3 is at 1650 peanut crops. Still, there is no mention of the peanut's rumored sponsor. Email Notifications Lexilicious has given us the details about the new email notifications. When your crops are ready to harvest, FarmVille can now send you an email notification. To enable this, go to your email preferences page at either Farmville.com or click on "email preferences" below the application on Facebook. Check the box next to "crops ready to harvest". You will now receive an email every time your crops are ready. This could either be a very handy reminder or quite the annoyance, but we'll have to give it a try to decide for ourselves! Real Life FarmVille For anyone lucky enough to live in or around Milpitas, CA, Zynga are holding a "FarmVille Live" event at the Great Mall this Saturday (April 17th) from noon until 4:00pm PST. There will be a live farm building event complete with cameras and swag. Check it out! Co-Op Farming Limit One of the user asked questions was what the limit is on the maximum amount of people allowed to work on a co-op job. The answer is 10 total farmers, 9 neighbors and yourself. Hungry Puppy Feeding Another player asked if puppies will continue to require feeding after the first 14 days is up, to which Lexilicious cleverly avoids the answer. She states that there is "cool stuff in store" for adult dogs, and that they will no longer need to be fed kibble as puppies. This could easily be an interestingly worded sentence with the end result being adult dogs that need to be fed less often but still requiring kibble. We should be finding the answer out to this in the near future. Upcoming Features Lexilicious has stated that there will be more co-op jobs coming to FarmVille soon, a new co-op message board and other social mission improvements. There will also be Limited Edition Earth Day items, which will feature items that are related to each continent. Also, White Grapes and Purple Poppies will be coming back to FarmVille. Do you think there was anything new, surprising, or exciting in this week's FarmVille podcast? Let us know in the comments!
