FarmVille French La Maison Building Information

Posted: 12 Mar 2010 09:15 AM PST

FarmVille introduced a French La Maison building on 03.12.10.

The La Maison is part of the limited edition French Chateau collection can either be purchased completed for 50 FV$ farm cash or you can purchase the frame only for 5,000 coins along with utilizing the help of your FarmVille neighbors for free building supplies and materials.

The process of building will work similarly to other buildings that require neighbor help, such as the Barn Raising, Horse Stable and Chicken Coop expansion.

The La Maison is NOT a building with purpose, it is only a decorative building. You can only have one buildable La Maison, but may purchase as many as you want with farm cash.

For more details on La Maison building please read below, after pics.

La Maison Building details from Zynga Community Manager Lexilicious:

"The La Maison foundation can be purchased from the Buildings section of Market for 5,000 Coins.

Once you've placed the Foundation on your farm, you will be prompted with a message letting you know that you can post a feed to ask you friends for help building your Maison. Clicking the "Share" button will give you the option to post a feed to your wall asking your Neighbors for help.

In order to complete your La Maison, you'll need to finish building it. Selecting 'Look Inside' from your foundation's menu will show you what you need to complete your La Maison. When you first place the foundation, you'll have one Slate Tile already. In order to build a complete La Maison you'll need 10 of each item. You can get these items one of two ways:

1. From neighbors via the Free Gifts menu.

Neighbors can send you the components you need to build your La Maison. Your Neighbors will be able to send you two of the five types of building components to help you complete your La Maison.
Please note that the two components displayed on the Free Gifts Page are randomized. As such, the components displayed on the Free Gifts Page may be different for each user.

When neighbors send you a building component, it works exactly like any other free gift. After you accept the gift it will appear in your gift box.

After clicking the "use" button under the gift it will automatically be added to your La Maison.

2. Purchasing components from the Market,

You can purchase components required to build your La Maison from the Market for 1 Farm Cash per item.

When you reach 25 items, you'll receive pop-up that will allow you to post a feed to your wall. The first ten neighbors to click this feed will receive a random building component for their own La Maison construction.

When you complete your La Maison, you will receive a popup asking you if you'd like to share the news with your friends. Clicking the Share button on this popup will give you the option to post a feed to your wall that will give up to five neighbors who click on it a free Provencal Pot.

Please remember that the La Maison is only a decorative item. It does not have any additional functionality.

You will not be able to store the La Maison in storage.

You are only able to have ONE buildable La Maison on your Farm(even when it's complete you will be unable to start building a new one).

Alternatively, you can have an infinite number of the La Maisons if they are purchased with Farm Cash."

Sid Meier talks Facebook's Civilization Network, human nature

Posted: 12 Mar 2010 08:00 AM PST

During his keynote speech today at the Game Developers Conference, Civilization creator Sid Meier touched on some of the key gameplay ideas he's thinking about for the upcoming Civilization Network, and at least one idea that definitely won't be in the game.

"There's a lot of fun game concepts that we get to play with here," Meier said of the upcoming Facebook game, among them dealing with players on "interesting schedules, maybe with only a little bit of time a day" to play. Meier said he's looking into making the game playable and fun whether you're playing simultaneously or separately from other players, and including options for competitive, cooperative and solo play.

But there was one feature Meier said wouldn't be included in the game: the ability to give gold to other players. Meier said he initially thought the idea would lead to interesting diplomatic gameplay, with players paying other to perform certain actions, or donating money to a friend they feel sorry for, or even publicly begging for gold on their wall, for instance. During testing, though, "what we found is no one ever gave gold to anyone else," Meier said. "The thought just never crossed their mind to give gold to other people. I don't know what this says about the human condition or the future of mankind, but it's kind of a sad commentary."

It got us thinking... if you actually had to give up your hard-earned cash and items when sending gifts in games like Farmville, would you still be as generous? Let us know in the comments.

Zynga officially names the new YoVille ... 'The New YoVille'

Posted: 12 Mar 2010 07:30 AM PST

The New YoVilleSorry to disappoint you, but Zynga is not calling this huge update "YoVille 2″ nor "YoVille the Return of the King." It is simply titled the "New YoVille"! This is what the greeting message said when I first logged in to the "New YoVille" as part of a small testing group.

The early guide to the new YoVille post raised so many question marks. Testers do not have the permission to reveal serious changes yet so I will just answer some of your questions. First of all, you should all know that this is a design update only. It won't cost anything, and it is not related to VIP.

Many have been wondering about some of the YoVille features that appear to be missing in the picture to the right.
You Can't See It But It Is There!
The camera feature is still somewhere out there!!

The Chat Log!
Well, let's just say that it's not going to be an ordinary chat log!

Have Fun Finding The Lock!
Yes, you will still be able to lock your room but have fun guessing where the lock is hiding.

Your Favorite Features Are Not Leaving!
Actions and smilies are not leaving. Like the features above, they are hidden in certain spots!

There's More But...
No, I'm not going to talk about the inventories, stores catalogues or the...ooops. Sorry, you'll have to wait for more! But trust me, the developers are working really hard to make YoVille easier to interact with.

As soon as we are allowed to, we will cover everything with news posts, comments and public polls so keep your eyes on this page for the latest updates. You can also follow YoVille Lounge on Facebook for the latest news alerts.

Hideeni plays Easter Bunny in Pet Society

Posted: 12 Mar 2010 07:00 AM PST

The Easter Bunny is in town! Actually, it's Hideeni sporting a new outfit in Pet Society. The change comes just in time. Some Pet Societyholics were getting tired of his pink tiger suit, as cute as it was. Earlier this week, one player Jacel, commented on his Facebook page, "It's the creepiest rose ceremony ever, tonight on The Bachelordeeni."

The roses are no more; Hideeni is now giving out colored eggs.Info for new players: You do not get an egg when you find Hideeni. You get an egg when your friends find Hideeni. Click here for instructions on how to retrieve a Hideeni gift.

What do you think of Hideeni's new look? Here's an image of the four outfits he's worn so far. Which one is your favorite?

Happy Pets expands Yard Store with Wonderland Items

Posted: 12 Mar 2010 06:27 AM PST

Additional Happy Pets Wonderland items have been added to the store. Three mushroom decorations and a Wonderland background theme make up the new outdoor decorations.

- Pink Giant Mushrooms - 325 Coins
- Big Red Mushroom - Unlocked at Level 15 - 475 Coins
- Purple Giant Mushroom - Unlocked at Level 20 - 650 Coins
- Wonderland Background - 24 Facebook Credits

The Yard Store is a feature that many Happy Pets players accidentally miss. Clicking the store button out in the yard automatically opens an entirely different catalog of decorations suited for the outdoors. This alternate store is where you'll find the new Wonderland items.

While we're thrilled that the mushrooms can be bought with coins, we can't help but feel disappointed the Wonderland background costs real money. It is understandable though, this alternate background is very snazzy. You'll even see butterflies flying amongst your pets in the mysterious Wonderland thicket.

Be sure to glance over the previously released Wonderland items and if you like the look of any of them, check out them all out on Happy Pets. You can be sure the Cheshire Cat will be very pleased to get some fresh air in his new appropriately decorated yard.

Games.com Exclusive! FarmVille Farmer's Market coming soon

Posted: 12 Mar 2010 05:30 AM PST

FarmVille Farmer's Market coming soon, big change ahead! This week, we had the chance to sneak behind the scenes at Zynga and talk to FarmVille General Manager Bill Mooney about what it takes to keep FarmVille-ians happy. Aside from releasing brand new items about twice a week, it's those bigger new features -- like Horse Stables or the new St. Patrick's Day Pot of Gold -- that keep players coming back for more.

A FarmVille Farmer's Market is one of those big additions that will be coming in a few weeks. The exact details are still hush-hush, but Mooney says that "you will be able to put stuff in your farmer's market and that will have an immediate benefit, and you'll have some interesting stuff to do with that."

We asked if the Farmer's Market will allow players to auction items, similar to the auction system found in the popular online PC game World of Warcraft, and he says it'll be much less of a 'win-lose' scenario, adding that the ultimate goal of the Market is to encourage people to get more social while playing FarmVille, giving players more reasons to visit friends' farms and work together to build a better game experience.

Before moving on, Mooney once again emphasized that the FarmVille crew has 'very big plans' for the Market and he expects 'people will be very excited by it.' Have to admit, it certainly sounds intriguing. We're guessing farmers will be able to put up items for sale in their Market, which will be a great way to earn a few extra bucks -- and clean out those super-packed storage barns. Keep your eyes peeled for the Market's impending arrival, most likely, in April.

We have some more big scoops for you on FarmVille -- so stay tuned!

PetVille yards coming soon

Posted: 12 Mar 2010 03:00 AM PST

petville introduces backyards for your furry critters
Every good pet owner knows that their furry friends like to run outside and play. Your virtual pals in PetVille will soon have that privilege as well, as the official fan page hints that yards will be coming soon. Not sure what the animated pinwheel signifies, other than the fact that it'll be a way to decorate the new outdoor space.

Happy Pets recently released backyards as well, complete with a set of outdoor worthy decorations, and, of course, more room for pets to run and play, so it was only a matter of time until the rest of the pet simulation games follow suit.

How do you plan to decorate your PetVille yard?
